Description

New Balance Numeric 22 Lost Art Shoes

New Balance Numeric 22 Lost Art Shoes in White and Green. Designed in partnership with Dave Mackey’s Lost Art Skate Shop, the New Balance Numeric 22 ‘Lost Art’ is a creative sneaker styled with skate specific functionality and artistic expression in mind. Inspired by the aging bronze sculptures and gold foil lettering found across monuments across the skate shops hometown of Liverpool, these low collared skate shoes are styled with uppers crafted from premium brushed back suede, whilst the crisp white auxetic outsole features a grippy, mix match and semi-translucent underfoot tread that’s designed to make light work of any challenging terrain. Styled with reference to the skate shop’s cityscape ties, each sole features printed cobblestone detailing, with the left foot styled with a blue hued outsole and the right with an amber tinted design. Each sidewall features a strip of perforations beneath the gold foil ‘New Balance’ branding for increased circulatory function, whilst the reinforced toe box features intricate double cross detailing for an additional touch of deconstructed, DIY appeal. The recessed 7 eyelet lacing system secures the debossed and frayed edge ‘NB#’ tongue across the arch of the foot, whilst the padded ankle collar features gold stitch embroidered ‘MCMXCIX’ and ‘LIVERPOOL’ detailing that honours the shops founding date and location. Signed off with collaborative ‘NB#’ and ‘Lost Art’ detailing across each heel collar, with custom ‘NB# x Lost Art’ photo-illustrative insoles that features one of the many statuesque monuments dispersed across the city.

Following on from 2016’s Epic TR release inspired by Liverpool’s rich football heritage, this latest New Balance Numeric x Lost Art collaboration turns to architectural influence and cityscape legacy for its reinterpretation of the iconic NB# 22. Founded in 1999 by Dave Mackey and a hub of cultural influence, Lost Art has become a mainstay of Liverpudlian skate culture with team riders including the likes of Chima Ferguson, Tom Knox and Geoff Rowley.
